i'm sure there are plenty of people who could/would take the job. Asmo's computer appears to be dead atm*, and tana resigned. So we're left with insomniac Brits (charming tho they are, they shouldn't be relied upon). Also, if you're going to turn the playerbase into a series of log carrying 'spies' who then report to the OPs, you may as well just damn well OP them. I'm not responsible for keeping that channel spam free at night, the OPs and staff are. If you aren't there, that's a fault with your organization, activity, and staff choices. The players who aren't involved in the staff shouldn't be relied upon completely in this circumstance.

i agree wholeheartedly with bigger events (i.e. pasting loads of IDs, ally ID lists etc etc); but for continuous low level spamming; it's not worth pasting to the staff. Since a: chances are pretty good nothing will come of it (considering it's the same offenders repeatedly for months and they're still at it, despite numerous 'supposed' warnings.) b: oh great they get a short kick/warning/ban and then are right back at it again (as has been demonstrated before by these 'repeat offenders'). These people are repeat offenders and it's beyond annoying. They (as a group) have singlehandedly turned that channel into a mess.

Many of the issues at night are spam related which could be stopped with a simple warning, and don't necessarily deserve a ban. These things accumulate in tiny little degrees to make the atmosphere untenable for a large percentage of players, when it is merely an active minority making that channel an absolutely awful place to stay.

I haven't spent a *ton* of time in there recently for the aforementioned reasons, but every time i feel like dallying in there for a bit, i'm driven out within a few short minutes from the unbridled behaviour and free reign that this new 'fluffy lovey dovey' policy has brought upon us.

The thing is People online at nights are still as bad as ever, please dont tell me their not. I have pulled a series of 2-3 day onlines then 12 hours of sleep over last few days and constantly during the aussie times their has been a utter lack of cover.

Azzer seriously consider getting more OP's. As much as i like the current ones, like ogluk they prefer not to hand out the bans and the one Mod who did (inferno) you removed. I hate to say it mate but doing so without some form of replacment was insane, channels just as bad as ever.

BAh didnt agree with his bans my foot! He did good work and made it a place that was actually usable seems the most effective mods are the ones you drive away.... anyone else seeing a pattern ? ^^

here's a good example of some of the crap we're forced to put up with at night.... It goes on and on and on; but in the interests of sanity and space saving, it isn't all there. They do go to quite some lengths (a good 25 minute bout) and while i could simply leave the channel, i feel like i shouldn't have to be driven out of a channel that we are theoretically 'all welcome in' simply because of the uncontrolled and immature behaviour of a few misguided and childish individuals.

no you usually don't. a week or 3 after the fact is such great timing. the fact is you just wish that you never had to interfere with the game. you make great pomp and circumstance about how you will lay down the law, but you rarely do and it's been evidenced many times in the many forum iterations as well as this thread.

people's reactions would be completely different if they knew what they were getting into, but the fact that you contradict yourself often leaves everyone without a clue as to what they are supposed to be doing.

You make these overtures about how you want to involve this thing and that thing but never follow through. You ask for input from the playerbase then scoff at it. If you would simply tell the truth

'I don't care what goes on as long as I have $$' then 85% of these issues and posts and complaints would disappear, but you don't tell the truth about who you are or what you are doing. You keep trying to include the playerbase then after a week go 'something shiny, leave me alone'.

I appreciate that, but this really isn't the first time it's happened. So in my humble opinion, a warning isn't going to accomplish much.

it's better than a poke in the eye with a dirty stick but for all that, warnings haven't stopped them before, i'm not wildly optimistic about this one. Unless you threatened them with decapitation, or being hanged drawn or quartered

in addition to those things, New ops need to understand who doesn't use #bushtarion and why. New ops also need to understand that there are no set rules, never will be set rules and to pretend otherwise is futile.

I know that may come across as a flame, but it is pure fact. the situation in irc changes moment to moment depending on who the current op is, the time of day it is and who is friends with whom. It's a shame so many bushtarion players refuse to go in there because of the chaos.
