Hi everyone!

So what with me earning some real money now, i've decided to ditch the shitty overheating dell laptop that i've got and invest in a brand new desktop!

I know this place is full of tech savvy people who love tinkling with these sorts of things so anyone want to take on the project of building me a fully functional gaming desktop?

Requirements

- Future proof i.e. Able to keep up with games that will eventually come out
- Will need a tower and speakers and monitor, preferably an inbuilt mic
- I'll be doing a fair bit of gaming on it. At the moment nothing super intense but I'd like the capability.
- A big problem with my current laptop is that it overheats like mad so if you think some sort of liquid cooling system is needed, i'm more than happy to pay for it.
- Budget of around 600-700 pounds. Willing to go higher if this is unreasonable.

Hiuey :)

It looks extremely gay, so it's probably perfect for you!

(in all seriousness, looks great to me, but i don't know **** so.... this has been very valuable I'm sure.)

Your post was lacking in useful information but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I honestly don't know a ton about technical details, but your monitor looked gorgeous, and looked like is perfectly functional and fulfills all the functions you could require of a monitor.

i should say, it's probably a little large for me, I currently have a 21.5 inch monitor, and it's *almost* too big. I wouldn't want a larger one.

Sorry for the useless post :p

DVD Drives aren't really a big issue these days - A dual-layer one would be helpful for future-proofing, though. :)

so....my mobo broke...and it was just out of its free replacement warranty period so I only got a partial refund. Anyone know of a good mobo I can buy because this one is discontinued.

It had a 6 month replacement gurantee. I think 2 years for partial refund. tbf I got most of it back. I opted to buy a Ma78L instead.
