Alliance leader

So I was running my PW, and was leader of an alliance that I had given two people the backup leader responsibilities to. I deleted my ID to try another route and now we don't have a leader, as my old ID is still listed.

I know that the backup leader responsibilities works if you 'leave' an alliance.
However I've never tried it by deleting an id!

Potential code flaw not taking into account deleted IDs?
One for Azzer methinks!
