Re: Mini Tournament

Well one possibility is that every alliance is 5 members big and made randomly of people who just joins the game, after 100 ticks(for example, maybe 200 or 2 days or something) alliances are combined to groups of 2 alliances (making total of 10 players in alliance).

This could be easily done by alliance activity list (which is unseen at beginning), combining most active and least active alliances together or so. It could ofc be so that if some alliance is completely inactive during first days then those wouldnt be combined with most active. As it could ruin whole round.

I know and am sure that Azzer could pull it all off pretty easily and make round actually pretty interesting.

Re: Mini Tournament

if this is meant to find bugs and loopholes, surely this round needs to simulate a normal round? but maybe spead ticks up and dev times..

none of this CTF lark.

This tournament is for fun, and is not to be confused with future age 5 playtesting :D

Re: Mini Tournament

2 man alliances.
CTF.
Private alliances.
10 minute ticks (Get used to it for next round. 5 man is too intense.)
Lower dev times and cost but not too much.
Start it new years day at 18:00 gmt and open registration 27th @ 18:00 gmt.
Prize -NOT a unit - if you know who has the unit then you know their id! Imo just 5 NT to the player or members of the team. Their decision to buy an ID or let them chose the option of a late ID.

1 man public ally
capture the flag
no attacking restriction on flag holder
5 minute ticks
low cost & time for devs (10% or a bit more) depending of how much the world will run for :p
no sleep mode
no ar mod
normal tech
Winner takes all (to avoid long term coalitions) (special unit for age 5 sounds fun) :p

I really like this idea

maybe have open tech with 10 dev limit like this little crazy round...only maybe

Re: Mini Tournament

Regular Alliances, cut Development ETA's by 25/50%, good amount of starting cash, maybe even land, no AR for anyone to make sure everyone gets in an alliance, no sleep mode, maybe even boost the income from land by 30% for faster seed gain.
Oh yeah, open Tech Tree, maybe up to three Routes per player.
Just some ideas to keep the round interesting, without making it suck, i.e joining a random team, people want to play with friends, not strangers, or n00bs even, you run the risk of getting stuck in an alliance of inactive morons.
Also, no extra anything for the winning alliance. :p

5 man teams for alliances, 10 minute ticks still, Devs a bit cheaper than normal? 0.7? Starting cash, low.

Prizes could be 5 BCs per member of winning alliance, nothing for personal rank.

I agree with this apart from I'd say maybe 10bil starting funds.

Re: Mini Tournament

-pre-set randomized alliances (maybe 10 - 15 people per alliance) so we can learn to deal with other people and for some -people meet more people.
-mixed rankings in each alliance
-1k - 2k starting land.
-1 bil starting cash.
-developments cost less than base rate.. maybe 1/3 and takes less time.
-5 minute ticks.
-Open techs.
-no sleep mode.
-no AR

-*prize: free ID booking for age 5 for each player in top alliance.*-

Re: Mini Tournament

for me it would be a mixture of these two suggestions, but no 1 man ally just the havoc like limitations removal. Alliances may still form but kinda organically, would be interesting to see what happens.

- CTF
- Remove limitations on who you can defend/attack (like in havoc), so everyone can get def from everywhere.
- Flagholder at the end of the round wins 5 credits, non-transferable.
- Closed tech trees.

Re: Mini Tournament

Random 20-30 man private alliances. (Otherwise we get the same old groups forming together and the same old 2/3 alliance groups battling at the top and the rest also rans). Maybe an option to kick anyone who has been inactive for more than 24 hours.
Open tech.
5 min ticks.
Dev starting mod of 1.00
Normal starting cash/acres

Members of winning alliance get bonus unit in next full round, that or they get higher starting cash or land.

5 man allies, not random but selected so there even,
5 min ticks
Open tech trees up to 10 devs
0.7 - 0.5 Dev mod

Normal starting cash n acres,

Top ally get a special unit round 30 on Age 5 code.

Or

Top ally start round 30 with more staff ie Gards, Harvs n wheelies...
give them a little head start over everyone else

Re: Mini Tournament

I'd like to put a vote in for no recalling, 5-man allies, randomly picked, open techs.
