I saw this news story today and was fascinated. I had no idea that piracy was around today exactly as it was hundreds of years ago... with pirate "mother ships" going out and launching smaller vessels, a port town that sounds like Tortuga full of captured ships, and pirates stealing cargo ships full of Russian tanks! All very film like!

Only the other day (September 19th, talk like a pirate day) I was talking with a friend about what it would be like/whether it would be possible to be a pirate in modern day times. Apaprently it is!

Re: Modern Day Pirates

yeah it's been going on for a good decade at least in the news. usually happens around madagascar and alot of native swahili speaking countries... also flesh peddlers/slave traders still very prevalent around indonesia and the multitude of islands they have.

pirates are here to stay, savvy?

ninjas > pirates.

Re: Modern Day Pirates

but news of ninja activity would defeat the sole purpose of being a ninja :(
