Re: Command and Conquer:Red alert 2 tournament

Because i really like this idea of this tournament and it seems nothing is done... I think its time to take over this whole crap...
So so far we have:

Team Disco_Kings

Hiuey
Davs
Dennis

Team FFSBBQSAUCE (bushtarion)
Twigley
Franny
Cal

Team confirmed:
atsanjose,
Maxi
Steve_God

Nonteamed players:
Dachi
f0xx
BW
Mysterious

Now all of those who are in team please nominate team leader, and then arrange battle with another team leader...
Hell its that simple... 2 teams agrees to battle and thats it...
Only rules needs to be clarified.

I think i have myself listed in nonteamed players ;)
As you atsanjose and Steve are both showing up as leaders of your team... how bout some "rule" suggestions and then you both could organize a time and place for your teams to collide....
At least that way we could get this thing started and first game played.

Hand me a team and get me a match on say monday evening (I'm off hunting from tuesday-friday), or the next week again, and I'm in!

Ok... The only rule I'd want to implement would be:

No Rushing
Roughly a 5 minute 'peace time' to allow a fair start-up growth time.

Any others?

Well basic stuff like:
2 games, both teams picks a map.
No harvester killing? No mass weapons? etc.
If you all are fine with some map or someone knows good map then all could use same and one match.
Rest of rules like no rush is what people wants to make of it...
Startig funds 10k? No extra starting units?

5 minutes of no attacks?! No Harvester killing? Most games don't even last that long and killing harvesters/reducing enemy economy is one of the best used tactics to gain the upper hand... :p

I don't agree with the no harvester killing either, but I do think that there should be at least a few minutes of peace to start with.

I know many games 'can' last about 90 seconds, but I'm not a fan of those games :p

Re: Command and Conquer:Red alert 2 tournament

Those were examples...
Theres a lot of rules that actually needs to be decided, alone in how to start map, unit amount etc.
No harv killing is one of those rules which i have found to be making gaming most fun. But as i said those are examples.
If such tourney is going to be held it needs such rules that after first and still after last fight no one can say "but that wasnt fair", "they broke rules" etc.

I love the tactic of killing harves, but I can see the reason for banning it. It makes for a lot longer games. But there should also be some rule about not being reckless with your harves. And stationary buildings/defences killing harves should be perfectly legal.

Re: Command and Conquer:Red alert 2 tournament

aargh... i said harv rule is example...FFS
Rules are there to make game fun and fair, to actually show whos the best.
And some rules are always needed so all fights can be compareable... If for one fight theres next to no techs and no starting funds and in other theres all full whats the point?

Some rules are aways must.
