• Those wishing to contribute to the game by making suggestions (both small and large) should read the following before doing so.

Bushtarion largely runs completely automatically, and has been designed intentionally to be as self-maintaining as possible, with mechanics and balance considered at a completed point.

Please do not spend large amounts of time coming up with complex suggestions in the hope that they will be read and possibly implemented in the future, unless you just enjoy the discussion, theory-craft, and such.

The most likely changes will be rules-changes, specific number-tweaks to units, techs, and similar sorts of changes, and only if a large community consensus is reached as "proof" that a change would, overall, be an improvement, and are more likely to be done in batches, occassionally, not as a regular thing.

I have to agree, for a solo, Strikers is usually a etter choice than RPGs, due to increased survivability, but in any ally RPG>Striker.

As for early targets, shox makes mincemeat out of plenty of early routes. (Fantasy, Protestors, Undead among others) and are vicious in defence.

Played right RPGs are among the strongest routes in the game, but it is made for going on the offense, not defense.

Shocks makes minced meat of undeveloped players that can't fight back ? That's expected :p But once gargs and sorcs are out you ain't that tough anymore.

Let's compare petrols and shocks alone:
Petrols are developed much faster, you can use them for a good while without going into masses of ninja/PA or other decent early let, they cost half the price of shocks, they fire before shocks, they deal more damage vs blockers even so, just against gards shocks do a bit better (but not cost for cost). So for a unit that comes a few days after petrols and has the same purpose (killing what doesn't fire back) i personally don't think the not too great extra survability makes up for it. Especially as the unit it's not an all rounder while petrols are more often used in the late game.

I use shocks later in the game. They have a low eta and they are pretty much an all-purpose unit. If you need quick defenc; shocks + hummers. If you need something that fires last tick; shocks + hummers. If you need to kill any NLDs/NLTs; shocks.

Shocks are a really useful unit in the route.

Also, PBs only fire range/middle whereas shocks fire all three ticks, which is quite nice to have.
