High price tag is rubbish.

you get the crappest conversion rates on watch towers. I think there might be an upper limit of 1 gargantua per unit killed (at a first guess)
And you need ~1000 scraps per watch tower.

[close] 11,028 hostile Watch Tower attacked, killing 49,445 allied staff.
[close] 3,880,874 allied Scrap Bot attacked, killing 3,339 hostile staff.
[raised] The scrap bots quickly went through the remains, constructing 3,287 Gargantua.
[close] 2,974,257 allied Shield Android attacked, killing 736 hostile staff.

Died: 49,445 [£2,429,945,000] friendlies dead. 4,075 [£93,610,305,000] enemies dead.
Converted: 3,287 [£3,287,000,000] enemies converted. (~3.5%)

Dunno how challengers wouldve done cos they ran them

I was just pointing out the very low conversion. Of the 100b worth killed, only 3.5b was converted to gargs (~3.5% conversion)

To be fair it isn't that hard to get the HQ units. Get a solo to do a solo ally and collect seeds......remembering you are donating all the cash so you stay at a low level to repeat the process.

Why would you convert more troops than there were targets? That would just be silly.. You should be happy with a nearly 4:3 conversion

That's stupid. There are many other ways to stay at low ranks for solos. And those who have the intention of cheating generally don't want to stay low. (I don't only mean the score, but all those stats.) Especially with the not so profitable conversion by killing HQ troops.

Seems there are much easier ways for cheaters to gain. But the original point of the thread is that you can defend other HQs and then use this to your advantage by converting your own HQ troops, with HQ Humvee over 90% efficient.

I dont think so. Number of troops is [should be] irrelevent. Theyre scrap bots. They go through the pieces of metal and make gargantua. The make a single gargantua out of multiple machine/robotic/vehicle corpses. Whats to stop them making multiple gargantua out of a single unit? If a single watch tower costs 23m, there must be a shitload of metal there, enough to make multiple gargantua for sure.

Not trying to advocate changing conversions of HQ units, just disagreeing with the idea that scrap bots would only be able to convert max 1 gargantua per corpse. Dont consider them to be converting corpses, theyre converting a single scrapyard.

Watch-towers are mostly stone! :p You should be happy to get enough for 1 Gargantua. A large portion of that price is also to pay for the miniature-TV and bunny ears so the guards don't get too bored! ^_^
